3. OCT. 11
[Ah shit, here she comes.. and she’s angry too. He growled slightly under his breath turned to look at her, ready to retort. When suddenly, Ed notices that Winry had recently gotten out of the shower. She was still slightly wet, her hair dripping on her shoulders and a drop or two running down her slightly-revealed chest. He blinked, accidentally staring for a moment as the droplet slides down her skin. The blond gulps and looks back to her face, his cheeks turning redder by the second.]
I’ve been doing a lot, actually. [he scratches the back of his head and looks to the side, looking quite nervous.] Sorry ‘bout that……
Why was his face turning red? She raised an eyebrow but heard him out, her face softened a bit. “You know, I was really worried. I don’t like it when you just…leave like that, you know?” She trailed off and suddenly leaned in and quickly pecked him on the cheek, some of the water on her hair dripping on his shirt. Her own cheeks started to glow red, but she shook it off and opened the door a bit wider. “Well, you owe me an explanation! So tell me!” She smiled and walked over to the bed, sitting and adjusting her robe as such.
[Ed rapped on the door of her trailer. He had forgotten to check in with her today… and yesterday. He felt pretty bad about it. Hopefully she wouldn’t be too irriatated. At least he was going to spend some time with her now, right? He’s just had a lot on his mind! He sighed when he didn’t hear an immediate answer. God he hoped she wasn’t out for a walk.. but just to check, he open the door and let himself in.]
Hey Winry? [the blond said loudly as he looked around the trailer for her.]
Winry stepped out of the small shower and quickly wrapped her wet body with a towel. She twisted her hair over her shoulder and walked to the mirror, using the palm of her hand to wipe the steam off the mirror. She looked at he mirror, the reflection showing a frowning girl. “Where’s Ed…”
As she heard a knock on her trailer door, that frown turned into an angry pout. That was Ed, she knows it. She scrambled to find something more decent to put on, eventually spotting a green bathrobe (that was probably Burgh’s) and tied it around her waist before running to the door and opening it. She put her hands on her hips and squinted her eyes at her boyfriend, showing her apparent anger. “Ed, where have you been? You know I’ve been worried!” The robe was obviously too big for Winry, in turn causing a bit of her cleavage to show.
[Ed was a bit taken aback from her kiss at first, not really expecting her to do that when he asked for her to ask nicer. Not that he minded it or anything. He carefully clenched her hand tighter with his automail one. Stupid automail geek.. She knew he couldn’t feel that hand. But it was expected of her, so he.. didn’t really mind that either. And even though he couldn’t feel her hand between his metal fingers, the thought of holding her hand made him happy enough.]
[he pats her on the shoulder before moving downward to sit in the sand. Keeping his hand with hers, he gently pulls her down to sit next to him. Ed wraps his arm around her, pulling her closer and looks out at the water, taking a short pause before saying what was on his mind,] So, mom left this place..
“What? S-She did? I see…” Winry lowered her head a bit and took a couple of deep breaths. She couldn’t even imagine how much pain Edward must be going through right now. Winry looked up again and turned to him. “Well, it’s a good thing, right?” She tried to turn the mood around because she couldn’t stand the sad look in Ed’s eyes; it almost made her want to cry. “Maybe she made it back to Resembool. Don’t you think so?”
[Ed repressed a laugh when she tried describing the lamp.] PFFT— Yeah yeah, I get it, Win’. [he roughly pats her on the head, messing up her hair in the process] What’re you tryin’ to act cute around me now or something?
[Chukling a bit, he drops his hand to his side and nods lightly, changing the subject again] Mm, but it definitely gets stuffy in those rusty things. Why do you think I’m out everyday training, and reading in odd places? Ah, I can’t STAND staying in one place for long. [he stretches his arms up in the hair, his fingers laced together. His automail rings out its normal clicks and clanks as he does so.] You of all people know how fidgety I can get.
[he glares down at her when she mentions him blocking the breeze. Oh, so he was just in her way? He wanted a different reason to sit next to her than that. He figured it would be a good chance to tease her a bit more too.] You could ask nicer….. [he says looking down at Winry, giving her an angry pout]
Winry smiled but clenched her teeth a bit, a little surprised that he was teasing her. Oh well. He was kinda cute when he did it, so she didn’t mind. “Fine! Have it your way!” She stood up and brushed the sand stuck to her skirt, also grabbing his automail hand and lacing their fingers together. She stood in front of him and laughed. “That’s okay Ed, I understand.” She leaned forward and softly kissed his lips, her grip on his automail hand tightening for just a second. She pulled back and smiled. “I don’t like guys who stand still anyways.” She returned to his side and put her head on his shoulder, their hand still holding his. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
[He let out a chuckle and stood next to her. Shrugging with his hands still in his pockets, he replied,] Nah, I was just going for a walk. I was uh… wonderin’ where you went off to though.. [he looks out at the water and lets out a breath] It’s just that this beach at night makes this place seem a lot less shitty than it really is… [he took a short pause and looked back to Winry, his eyebrows slightly furrowed] What’re you doing out here anyway?
She nodded, her eyes still dead set on the water. “Yeah, I agree. It’s the most peaceful place here I think. Funny how such a reckless place has some sort of salvation. It’s kind of like there’s something good in every person, even if they’re bad.” She took a deep breath and turned to him.
“What am I doing out here? I could ask the same for you too ya know!” She giggled and stretched her legs out. “Don’t you think it gets a little stuffy in the trailer? I think that the breeze and general atmosphere makes me feel better. It gets rid of the headache I get from that small lamp. You know, that one right next to my bed?” She made gestures with her hand, them coming across rather childlike. It wasn’t intended, it was just the way Winry was. Her next motion was patting the sand next to her, motioning him to sit next to her. “Sit down Ed, you’re blocking the breeze!” She smiled.
[He honestly had a lot on his mind.. With his hands in his pockets, Ed walked along the beach’s edge, occasionally kicking the sand. Often times he would walk along here just to think… The beach wasn’t exactly something he got to enjoy often when he was back in Amestris so it was.. nice.]
Hm? [Ed kicked a shell across the sand, and as it skidded into the distance, he noticed a familiar face.] Winry? [he squinted his eyes to see through the darkness, walking up hesitantly to see if it was her. He couldn’t help but to smile a little when he saw it was]
Winry sat on the soft sand and brought her knees to her chest. The beach, she thought, was always better at night than during the day. Even in this crummy place, the beach always remained somewhere that Winry felt comfortable at.
She was caught off guard by Ed, his low toned but sincere ‘Hey’ making her turn her head and smiled softly at him. “Hi Ed. What’re you doing here? Do you need something?”
